Under section 15 of the Retail Leases Act 2003, when a landlord, or a person on behalf of a landlord commences negotiation of a lease, in addition to providing a copy of the proposed lease, a copy of the information brochure produced by the VSBC must also be given to the prospective tenant or person acting on the tenant’s behalf.

In addition to providing the information brochure to the tenant, the landlord should also provide the tenant with a copy of the lease and a copy of the disclosure statement.
