Notify a lease PDF Print E-mail

This form can be used to notify retail premises leases to the Small Business Commissioner, as required under section 25 of the Retail Leases Act 2003. Section 25 provides that, within 14 days of signing by all parties of a retail lease, or the lease being renewed, the lease or renewal must be notified by the landlord to the Small Business Commissioner. Where a landlord wishes to lodge beyond 14 days of signing, application should be made in writing to the Small Business Commissioner providing details as set out in this form, and an explanation of the circumstances.

Before submitting the information you have entered you will have an opportunity to review it, and make amendments if necessary. Submission of this online notification will generate an identification number for you to use. You will have the ability to print this identifier together with a copy of your notification.

HINTS FOR NOTIFYING A LEASE:
 - Don't use spaces or punctuation when filling in phone numbers and ABN/ACN fields
 - If you don't know details for any of the mandatory number fields, enter 12345678 
 - If you don't know details for any of the mandatory word fields, enter AA
 - Dates should be typed as dd/mm/yyyy
 - When the form as been completed, a new page will appear. This will contain the Business Victoria reference number and a "View Form" button which allows you to print a copy for your records.
