The Office of the Victorian Small Business Commissioner (VSBC) commenced operations on 1 May 2003 and is located at Level 2, 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. The VSBC can be contacted on 03 9651 9967 or 03 9651 9316, or through the Victorian Business Line (VBL) on 13 22 15.

The VSBC is dedicated to promoting a competitive and fair operating environment for small business, and assists by:
 - Supporting small business
 - Promoting informed decision-making
 - Mediating retail tenancy and owner driver and forestry contractor disputes
 - Investigating complaints about unfair market practices
 - Minimising disputes between small and large businesses, and
 - Encouraging small business-conscious government administration.
